Terry,
Is your Werner winch for a front mount, or a rear mount?

Since I am parting out another 406 I have way too many used parts and not enough space! So I have a clearance sale to move some old stuff out to make room for the new! check it out here,
http://vonsmog.com
If you need something and you don't see it on my site, please ask me. I most likely have it! Just way too many parts to photograph and post on the web site!
Also check out my new parts page, as it has been updated as well!
Thanks, Von
List, I am replacing the WERNER winch Data plates on my F30 industrial
winch with remote. My original plates got all banged up by trailer crossbar
on gooseneck coming back from Tahoe Mogfest. My question is--the new data
plates I received are not inscribed with any data on the face of the
plates---blank. What is the best way to put the letters/numbers, on the
plastic plates---how do I write it on there?
Ron,
Welcome back. Did you happen to see any interesting MB hardware at Burning
Man?
Take care.

Are there any seattle area truck owners who would like to run their vehicle for some audio recording? It would probably be run on the street to capture tire noise and scrub sounds, as well as on a dyno in an audio booth to get engine and drivetrain noises.
Send me an email off list if you're interested - you'll get some swag and recognition in the credits, plus you get to do a dyno run for free!

On both my Mog and Sprinter campers, I've had a problem with wrangling trash, especially stinky food stuff and the crap I pick up that was left by others. Not so cool having it in the vehicle with us.
A guy from the Expedition Portal has started selling what is basically a garbage bag holder shaped like a giant backpack that straps to something external on your truck. Apparently, this sort of thing has been available in Australia but wasn't imported here, so he had a couple hundred made up for sale.
Listers,
There is a 404 mog without the engine and diffs for sale in Armstrong BC. He saw my old 421 in a trade show and thought he'd see if we knew of anyone that might be interested in what he has.
I'm looking at getting a set of the running lights that mount on the sides of the hood on the 416/416(and others)
Has anyone had bad luck with these lights, such as getting ripped off???
Other places to mount off road lights that wont get to damaged?? Or is the best to just put them in cages on the front high side of the bumper??
This would be just for off-road, not plowing applications.
thanks

Hi gang,
I've been considering installing an oil filtering centrifuge to reduce the soot contamination in my U-1300.
http://spinnertwo.info/files/comm_id_10/Lo76SEservice.pdf
The engine oil gets black very quickly and oil testing says soot build up is higher than expected. The lubricating qualities of the oil are still ok, but soot is an abrasive. Changing oil more often is one way to avoid this problem but I want to extend the driving range also, and run synthetic motor oil, and those two goals are incongruous with frequent oil changes.
Hi!
Does anyone make sound deadening stuff for the 404?
Or do 404 owners have to cut and fit their own stuff?
Joe
