Hello,
After traveling from California to Colorado to pick up a radiobox based
unimog camper, I blew my transmission about 30 miles north of Los Alamos on
285 in New Mexico. The truck is still on the side of the road. Does anyone
have any suggestions as far as shipping or storage? I need to move it, and
possibly ship it back to southern California. Thread and pics here:

Thanks in advance!

There is a contact shown on the support directory for Patrick in Los Alamos.
I am reluctant to post his details here, but if you email directly to me
(not the list), I will reply with his contact info.
Patrick's entry on the directory indicates that he may be able to provide
parking until you get the shipping arranged.
Good luck with the repairs.
Frank in Wa.
I did contact Patrick with his info from the MSD, unfortunately he is out of
town. I'm really hoping I can swing some kind of shipping before it gets
towed..

I've been off line a few days, if you still need help I'm available Monday and Tuesday with a truck and trailer in Albuquerque.

Thanks everyone, I got towing lined up for tuesday. The mog is going to get
trailered back to Twentynine Palms, CA. When I catch up with the truck, I'll
start looking into what it's going to take to get it back on the road..

I have the truck that camper box came off of.
I don't know if you want to flat tow it. Since the tranny is already
sad, it might bind up on you, depending on exactly what's failed
inside it.
You might try uship.com. See if there is someone who can give you
fast service and a decent price.

My mistake, meant flat trailer. It wouldn't even be happy with two wheels on
the ground.. I heard you had truck problems as well leaving Colorado? Thanks
for the link, I'll check it out.

Yeah. The truck had some issues.
The tranny was fresh, but the clutch blew up, and the rear axle was
bent. There were also electrical issues, and the carbs just wouldn't
work right.
The electrical works now, though it's still not a _great_ job. I
replace the carbs with Weber carbs. Justin Lassy at Couch Offroad
fixed clutch, rear axle, and other mist mechanical issues. Plug wires
were sometimes shorting, causing poor running. And I just figured out
that my cooling issue was being caused by my thermostat. Truck runs
pretty well, now. It's been a lot of work, though.
