How to Drive

Thanks for all the info help and offers,
I went back today and Disconnected the Clutch and As suggested Used a Pry bar to actuate it, You could hear the Trans unload like a Big Spring Slowly unwinding. IT was sitting on flat ground but was definitely loaded with some serious gear reduction, My goal was to get it in Neutral and ready to transport! Hopefully today it will be home. I owe you guys some pictures and info and I will get on that shortly after it's home!
I know it sounds pretty bad but I am still hoping this is a diamond in the rough! It was a maintained and functional truck until just a couple years ago. It has been sitting in a very dusty dry yard for around 2 years.
I am crossing my fingers it gets home today so I can start figuring out what I have, So far it looks like the Clutch cylinders either need service or at least a bleed. Right now it's just about getting it home safe. I will update as soon as it lands here! As of now It's in Neutral and has been partly dismantled to decrease it's over the road height. Looks like it has many cool systems still ready to run once it gets a little love! Big thanks to all for the fast help and Taking the time to post pictures as well as find links, This was a short notice purchase that I had to squeeze in At a very busy time for me. If all goes well it will land here today or Tomorrow at the latest and I will take some pictures and add some facts! Thanks very much!

How to drive

Thank you that helped some,
Unfortunitly the selle r has left the country now and his employees/ Co workers were left to load the Mog onto a trailer, It now has some problems it did not have yesterday seems to be stuck in reverse and not able to shift as well as a couple broken shift levers! Now I have to figure out how to get it in neutral and get the train wheels up so it can be winched dead onto a trailer? Any ideas? I'm heading out the door again now but will be back to the web in the morning! I'm in SE MA. near the RI Line!

and while you are on that forum, search the forum for 'shifting', 'shifters', etc. There's loads of info there including pictures.
Lifting an implement would 'normally' not involve the PTO. The hydraulic control levers on the steering column will probably be what you use... BUT, we know nothing about your truck, what implements, or if you have the high capacity hydraulics in addition to normal hydraulics.
Where are you? Are there 406 owners in your area?
Good luck and enjoy!

I am here in Connecticut. I have a 406. If I can help let me know. I work in the north-east corner of CT. Not sure how far from where you are at that is but I could go that way after work. Chris Elliott is in Cumberland, RI as well. He has sold and worked on all kinds of Mogs.

how many levers?, post a picture or drawing and you might get some help
- does the engine start?, press clutch will help, push for- and
backwards while trying to shift might help too.
